GEMINI PMX-01

    I was running out of hope that I would find a good phono preamp for under $50, but I found it in the Gemini PMX-01

   The PMX-01 of course is more than just a phono preamp. But it is these neat features that make it very useful for reamastering to digital.

The variable high output and the ability to monitor through headphones is really very neat and useful. Further, since you can mix from 2 different sources additional avenues of creativity may present themselves!

   The GEMINI PMX-01 is easy to install. A useful owners manual is included.

   I never though to look at basic mixers as a source for useful phono mastering, but here it is. And what a deal the PMX-01 is!

   You have full control over 2 separate Line/Phono inputs. You can cross fade between the two inputs too. The Cue Source and level controls let you monitor the inputs independantly through the headphone jack.

Steel construction wards off the effects of stray magnetic fields.

   The really great features to take note of with the PMX-01 are, I believe, the functionality vs price. It just is not the obvious place to look for a phono stage.!

   One of the biggest let downs with phono stages is noise and hum. Phono stages must be quiet at normal and above normal listening levels. The GEMINI PMX-01 is quiet. Nothing will get in the way of you remixes.
